For every four participants, there will be one lead instructor and one support staff.
Adults will spend four days a week/three hours a day in training.
(Mon. through Thurs., 9am – 12pm)
- Week 1
- Grocery / Retail Overview. Students will spend nine classroom hours becoming familiar with the basics of grocery store employment to assess their interest and willingness to commit to the program. Includes first class visit to grocery stores in our area.
- Week 2
- Review, Interview and Assessment, Soft Skill Development. Students will work with a Teaching Lead, plus one support staff in a small group setting of four participants per class.
- Weeks 3-8
- Training and education at the New Horizons campus, online, at work site. This training ensures participants have the opportunity for extended learning activities and additional mentoring if desired.
- Weeks 9-10
- Review and work with mentors on resume building and interviewing skills.
