New Horizons, a non-profit serving individuals with special needs for nearly 65 years, seeks self-starters to be in various departments including Residential Living, Community Living, and Employment Services.  The work we have available is in the San Fernando Valley area. 

All Driving Positions

  • Must have a valid California Driver License and driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier

Available Positions

Client Connection Professional (CCP) Level 1

(Part-time, Mon thru Fri)

The Client Connection Professional Level 1 provides coaching, assistance, instruction, support, and advocacy to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a virtual setting or by phone or other approved format. The Client Connection Professional Level 1 facilitates services and connections for Day Program Members so they may continue making progress toward their individualized goals and pursue their interests. The Client Connection Professional Level 1 may use a variety of media, technology, curriculum, and creative methods to adapt to each client’s unique situation and ensure that they continue to make progress learning from home.

Community Care Facility Home Manager

(Full-time)

Assists adults with developmental disabilities in their daily activities and needs in a residential setting. Observe residents, record, and report any physical or emotional irregularities. Assist with personal hygiene of residents, as needed. Assist with and supervise basic self-help skills. Give guidance to residents regarding desirable health, hygiene, and appropriate behavior. Chaperone, participate in, and initiate social activities and discussions with family and group. Participate in and oversee basic housekeeping duties in the home and surrounding premises. Transport residents to medical and other appointments or activities, as needed.

Member Engagement and Quality Assurance Manager

(Full-time)

The Member Engagement and QA Manager is tasked with creating exceptional experiences for Members and their families, developing, tracking and overseeing quality assurance functions related to Member outcomes, and case management for all Members. This position is a critical part of enlisting new Members to the NH family of services, helping guide them while at NH, and being the “face” of the agency to the community at large.

Job Coach – Level 2

(Part-time: Flex hours-7 days a week.  Various shifts available during the week and/or weekends may include overnights /early mornings)

Provides instruction, coaching, assistance, support, and advocacy needed by individuals with developmental disabilities (consumers) to successfully work in a community job setting.

Community Living Services Coordinator

(Full time)

Conducts quality assurance consumer home visits weekly to ensure Life Skills Instructors are providing quality services to consumers in the community in a home of their own. Oversees caseload of 10 to 15 consumers; directly supervises and schedules the staff assigned to provide life skills instruction and/or supportive living services. Provides direct care services up to 24 hours per week and 16 administratively. Supports and serves as back-up to Community Living team

Training Programs Instructor

(Full-time)

The Primary role for the Training Programs Instructor is to develop and support New Horizons’ youth program in the schools, creating a welcoming, active and outcome-oriented experience for youth with disabilities and provide training and support to participants in the Go4Grocery Program.  The Training Programs Instructor will be assigned 50% of time to Youth Navigation Services and 50% of time to Go4Grocery Program.

Direct Support Staff – Tier 1

(Full-time: Flex hours-5 days a week)

Direct Support Staff 1 provides services that enrich the lives of residents with developmental disabilities living in an intermediate care facility. Under the supervision of theHome Manager and Care Provider, Direct Support Staff assists residents with living skills development, health maintenance, personal care, and behavioral development.

Life Skills Instructor / Mentor

(Part-time: Flex hours-7 days a week.  Various shifts available during the week and/or weekends may include overnights /early mornings)

Assist individuals living independently with basic self-help skills, house-keeping/meal preparation along with socialization activities.  Aid individuals with developmental disabilities with their basic self-help skills, and oversee and participate in basic housekeeping and meal preparation duties.  Additional requirements are: ability to pass a criminal background check; and have access to a car with acceptable driving record.
Driving at least 3 years in the US.
