New Horizons’ Green Light to Mobility program is funded by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO).  The program empowers individuals to safely access their communities by encouraging further independence, confidence, and mobility through METRO transit education throughout the San Fernando Valley and the City of Santa Clarita.

Free Senior Travel Training Workshop – Introduction to Using Public Transportation (also covering last summer’s Woodland Hills route changes)

Presented by Joanne D’Antonio of New Horizons’ Green Light to Mobility program, this workshop is designed to teach how to use reduced fare TAP cards and learn to ride the City’s public transportation system (including rail and buses).

The summer 2018 changes to the Orange Line, the Warner Center Shuttle, and bus lines: 150, 161, 164, 169, 245, 250 in Woodland Hills/Canoga Park will be explained.

Bring your ID and we will take your photo and application for a reduced fare tap card after the workshop.  Eligibility: senior (62+)

Joanne D’Antonio and Jeannette Martinez of New Horizons’ Green Light to Mobility program will do TAP card applications and give individual travel training to help you better use the City’s public transportation system (including rail and buses).  Bring your ID and we will take your photo and application for a reduced fare tap card after the workshop.  Eligibility: senior (62+) or disabled.

Maps and handouts on using public transportation provided.

Bring a smart phone and learn apps to find out exactly when your bus is coming.  You will need your ID and password for your phone.  If you are new to public  transportation, sign up for our free field training from a transit stop convenient to your residence.
