A Letter from John D. Bunzel, New Horizons Chairman of the Board
April 22, 2016
Dear New Horizons Friends and Family:
After 28 years of service at New Horizons, Cynthia Sewell (Kawa), our President/CEO, will be retiring, as of December 31, 2016. Please join me in congratulating her!
For the past several years, New Horizons has been strategically positioning itself for its long-term future, including staff and volunteer leadership, financial stability, operations, and similar matters. Cynthia’s retirement is part of this well-planned process.
In order to assure a smooth transition, Cynthia will serve as a consultant to the organization throughout all of 2017. Later this year, the Board will begin a search for a replacement for the President/CEO position.
New Horizons has built a very strong management team and a first rate staff that provide the highest caliber of services to the population we serve, persons with intellectual and developmental challenges. Those standards of care and a highly professional and open management approach will be continued.
If you have any comments or questions, I will be happy to respond to them.
Sincerely,
John D. Bunzel
