Donna Norum Joins New Horizons’ Team

New Horizons is honored to welcome our Special Initiatives Director

A welcome addition to our team, Donna brings over twenty years of non-profit experience from various departments such as Development, Accounting, and Human Resources.  Most recently as Chief Program Officer from OPARC, a Southern California sister organization, she spent the last five and a half years supporting individuals with disabilities.

And with her wide range of professional experience, Donna is the first to say that she’s able to see things from multiple points of view; being calm in times of crisis as she has mastered the skill of working in very high-stress environments.

Now in her new role as Special Initiatives Director, Donna will oversee and support Community Day Services in providing services and future forward thinking ideas.  She will work directly with President and CEO John  C. Brauer, M.A,, with a top priority of supporting New Horizons’ GoGrocery program.  Beyond her excitement in getting to know the culture of  New Horizons – its staff, Members, and all our programs and services, she is also enthusiastic about getting to know our partners at the North Los Angeles Community Regional Center (NLACRC), board members, families, caregivers, and other stakeholders.

When asked what enjoys most about joining the New Horizons’ Team, Donna says, “Our industry is in a time of great change and that is exciting!  I’m thrilled to be part of organization with the resources to navigate the future.  It doesn’t take long to see that New Horizons is full of individuals that are passionate about our Members, the work they do, and making sure that the best support is being provided no matter what comes.  I’m lucky to be here!”
