How Services Are Provided
AST services are provided through one-on-one or small-group instruction in home and community settings, allowing individuals to learn and practice skills in real-life environments. Training is tailored to each person’s goals, strengths, and support needs, using hands-on learning opportunities that promote skill acquisition and retention. By increasing daily living skills and community engagement, the program helps individuals achieve greater independence, expand their opportunities for participation, and prepare for more independent living and community-based experiences.
