Summary
Oversees the day-to-day operations of Supported Employment and all the job coaches.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Carries out the Employment Services Director’s vision for the department
2. Directly manages the day-to-day operation of the program and job coaches
3. Supervises Job Coaches/Senior Job Coach which includes training and evaluating performance.
4. Conducts Monthly Job Coaches’ meetings.
5. Responsible for Job Coaches’ bi-weekly payroll/timekeeping.
6. Reviews progress notes to make sure they are in CARF standard.
7. Requests extra coaching hours as needed from Regional Center and DOR.
8. Ensures all the job coaches’ timesheets are submitted correctly.
9. Serves as a backup in the absence of the Assistant ES Program Director.
10. Assists in coordinating consumer banquet.
11. Performs other duties, as assigned by Assistant ES Program Director.
12. Carries a cell phone during consumers working hours (7 days a week) and remains accessible to staff and consumers.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintains proficiency in all Employment Services and computer applications and databases as required for this position.
2. Attends meetings and trainings as required by the Senior Employment Services Director.
3. Supports the Agency’s mission and partners with others to accomplish the mission.
4. Maintains the highest professional and ethical standards at all times.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises all the Job Coaches. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, and training job coaches; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving problems.

The Supported Employment Manager must possess the knowledge of the needs of persons with developmental disabilities and have the ability to relate effectively with persons with disabilities. He/she must be able to manage crisis situations and have access to the necessary resources for consumers to live and work effectively in the community. Ability to organize, administer and coordinate a program and to act decisively and competently. Good verbal and written communication skills are also required.
Belief in the agency philosophy and in the dignity of the individual; demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and supportive manner with staff, consumers, and the community; must also demonstrate the ability to organize work in an efficient and timely manner to meet the demands of the job.
The individual must have a reliable vehicle, a valid California Driver License, and good driving record, and proof of adequate vehicle insurance.
Education and/or Experience
Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation, human services, or a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of work experience with adults with special needs.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in English general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write in English reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information in English and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
